Restore Frodsham Lock

One current campaigns is to restore Frodsham Lock. This would give access for boaters to Frodsham and another route to the Ship Canal.

The lock and sluice gate at Frodsham is a Historic England Grade II Listed Building. It has as colourful and varied a history as the river itself. Sadly the lock is now unusable.

A Heritage report was commissioned into the state of the lock in 2005 and since then very little has changed. The lock still exists but is unusable, though the sluice gate next to it still works. The lock gates are still visible but the lock chamber is overgrown with reeds.
