What will happen to the Navigation Yard site in the heart of Northwich?
The site, which includes listed buildings, the icon clock tower and an historic crane, has been sold.
A consultation was held at short notice, and publicised in the local press and social media, on Friday 27 September. There was a good attendance, with over 100 people, including the new owner Laurence Daw. Jim Mole and John Steward from the RWNS and are the working group and were there, as well as Maxine Moar and Phil Woolas from CAG and the Architects White Box. Andrew Cooper (MP) and a number of Councillors from Northwich and CWAC were present. A number of preliminary drawings were displayed.
The group went on a tour of the HQ block, which is getting a bit dilapidated with leaks in the roof. Unfortunately, the wharf, arguably the best deep water wharf side on the river, was inaccessible and unviewable because of extensive undergrowth which had not been cleared.
Phil made a brief welcome address, people were encouraged to fill in the questionnaire and add comments, Maxine made the point that ideas should come with some indication of how they would be funded.
When more information is made public we will upload them here.
